Anxiety Therapy & Counseling in Southeastern WI
If anxiety is taking up too much space in your life, you’ve come to the right Place.
Anxiety can turn everyday things (hangouts, going to work, parenting, a simple conversation, etc.) into insanely uncomfortable situations (overthinking, feeling on edge, your heart feeling likes it’ll jump out of your chest, etc.). On the outside, you may appear to have it all together—you show up, meet expectations, take care of others, and keep moving forward. But internally, your mind never seems to slow down.
Maybe that's you. Maybe you're tired of carrying the weight of anxiety while everyone else assumes you're doing just fine. When it comes to anxiety it may be helpful to know that while you may feel alone, Generalized Anxiety Disorder is the most common mental health condition.
I want you to know that feeling better is possible, and this doesn't have to feel so big forever.
Is Anxiety Therapy Right for You?
Anxiety can feel overwhelming, like your mind is always on and your body can’t quite settle. You might find yourself overthinking, staying busy to keep up, or feeling stuck despite how much effort you’re putting in. Anxiety isn’t just in your thoughts, it lives in the body, too.
Anxiety treatment at The Centered Self is different than what you might expect.
My goal isn't to simply get rid of the anxiety (doing so will just make it worse!). Instead my approach focuses on getting curious, trying to understand the anxious part of you and what function it serves in your life. My work goes beyond coping strategies. We’ll spend a lot of time exploring what is happening inside your mind and body, and offering lots of kindness and care. After all, anxiety isn’t a sign of weakness, its a sign that you’ve been in survival mode for a long time.
The goal isn't to eliminate anxiety—it's to help you develop a different relationship with your thoughts and emotions even when anxiety comes along for the ride.
